how much does an electric car cost to fully charge in the UK?

Sion Pitt

im thinking of buying an electric car because it ticks all the boxes for me, but i can't find anywhere that tells me how much it costs to fully charge? can anyone help me out?

Answer
Well, I can give you an idea, but there's one piece of information you will have to provide - your electric rate.
*
Most electric cars get from 3 to 4 miles per kilowatt hour. Oops, sorry, I have to convert that to kilometers - 5 to 6 kilometers per kilowatt-hour.
*
To answer the other poster here, this figure is based on measured energy from the wall socket, no additional calculations are needed. (Look at the comparison page in sources - you will see the same figures there.)
*
So if you drive 60 kilometers per day, you will need to put 10 kilowatt-hours of electricity into your car. Multiply your electric rate per kilowatt-hour by ten, and there's your daily charging cost.

Electric Car?? Possible?

Q. I read in STD V our Science Fair in 26th of this month.

I want to do a little different project, so I want to bult a small electric car... is it possilble?? If yes.. how??

Or do you have any other ideas??

I WILL BE THANKFUL

Answer
Well the long answer is
YES
and the short answer is
YES

Electric cars are emerging in the US and UK faster than you can say bananas... because the battery technology is finally here. You know the battery in your mobile? or your laptop? Well if you have enough of these you can power an electric car and charge it up with solar panels on your roof.

There are hundreds of hobbyists converting their cars from petrol to electric and raving about the results. If some dude can do this in their back shed, why aren't car companies making them?? oil? monopoly? who knows?

well there is one start up car company making them www.teslamotors.com, but check go out the other link below to see one in action.

Good luck!
