4 days ago I leased a 2014 Toyota Corolla and using it for 3 days straight when I get up in the morning my electric windows do not work in the cold weather. Even when I warm up the car for about 10 minutes it still doesn't work. Only when I drive the car for about 15 minutes will the windows finally work properly.Does this qualify under the Lemon laws? Let me know. Thanks.

Answer
No - that sort of defect is what the warranty is for. Lemon laws vary from one state to another. Here in Arizona if the manufacturer tries three times to fix a serious safety problem and fails to fix it the buyer and manufacturer can enter into arbitration that could end with the car being replaced. It is very rare.

I see by your profile you are in Pennsylvania. There "Under the law, the manufacturer must, at no cost to the purchaser, repair or correct any defect which substantially impairs the use, value or safety of the vehicle and which occurs within one year after delivery, or 12,000 miles of use, or the term of the manufacturers express warranty, whichever comes first. If the defect cannot be repaired after 3 attempts, or if the vehicle is out of service for a total of 30 calendar days for repair, generally, you may be eligible for a replacement vehicle or the refund of the purchase price, less a limited allowance for use. First, contact the manufacturer's zone representative at the telephone number listed in your owner's manual."

Can I Safely tow a Car with my 1989 Chevrolet G20 Conversion Van?

Nick

It is the Mark III conversion, 5.7L V8, has 175k miles but in decent shape. I am moving from southern california to tacoma washington at the end of 2014. Am I able to tow a 2400 pound car on a trailer, plus 3 people and some possessions 1400 miles north safely? If not, what can I upgrade/change to do so?

Answer
Towing the car and trailer should not be a problem, as long as the trailer has brakes (either electric or surge operated) and there is a good hitch installed on the van (Preferably a Class 3 or 4 receiver hitch.)

The only other thing I would consider would be adding a transmission cooler, but it you are making the trip in the winter I would not worry much about that.
