Q. I've heard of electric cars, but never got into them since my family and friends always use gasoline powered cars. Well now I know a little about them and I think they're pretty cool! So just wondering, which of these three cars do you have? And which do you think is better?
Answer
I use a gasoline engine. I would happily switch to a hybrid or electric car only if:
1. They start making engines that can last more than 10 years.
2. They start making cars that actually look like something you would want to be seen driving around in.
3. They start making a car that can get from 0-60mph in less than 8.5 seconds and can break past the 100mph mark.
4. For electric cars, it would be nice if they could make one that can do more than 300 miles on a single charge.

Do you think NASCAR could or ever would use electric cars?

I mean let's face it, electric cars are the future. Gas prices keep rising and at some point lots of people will be driving electric cars. NASCAR is going to have to keep up with the times.
Answer
Electric cars.... your not serious right. Chevy Volt 40-50 miles on electricity and 240 miles on an underpowered gas engine. Yep that's the future, simply the technology isn't there yet. Plus our countries power grid is nearly maxed out in high usage periods now. Where are we going to get all this power to recharge all these inefficient electric cars? To the guy who speculated ethanol, they are going to use a partial mix this year.
Using electric cars would be worse than watching the Brickyard 400 two years ago: Race for 10 - 12 laps then recharge for 4 - 6 hours, or take 6 minutes in the pits to replace the batteries and go for another 10 - 12 laps. No roar of the engines , sorry but I just don't see it ever happening.
