best deals on electric cars image

Gina ;
I would rather buy an electric car that is environmentally-friendly, but is that affordable?
Answer
Yes, electric cars can be affordable, if your driving needs align with the vehicle's strengths.

One good approach is leasing. Both the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf lease for just $349 per month. And, once higher gas prices kick in this summer, you could be saving as much as $200 per month by using electricity instead of gasoline.
*
A $349 lease with $200 monthly savings adds up to a very good deal. When the 3 year lease is up, just trade up to the newest and best electric car.

If gas prices get to high would electric cars be more feasible?
Q. Gas prices getting high. Would it be more feasible to go electric on cars? Only problem is if they can make electric cars at affordable prices so the common person can buy one.
I would probably like a small leight weight electric car just to go to work and back. With the light weight of the car, it would zoom along and if it stalls, one could easily push it off to the side.

Answer
You could look at a Mitsubishi MiEV. It's only about $22,000 after incentives. That's not expensive because you will be saving $200 or so every month on fueling cost.

There are also some very inexpensive lease deals available on Chevy Volt - as little as $199/month if you shop around.
