I dont know anything about the difference between nitro rcs and regular... I was looking for a site that could explain the differences and what i would need when purchasing one. I looked at a site that showed the different rcs and one of them had nitro rcs and then another had nitro rcs packaged deals, whats the difference. THank you, I hope I wasn't too confusing.

Basically there are 3 types of hobby spec RC cars; electric, nitro and petrol.
Don't think the electric ones are the toy ones people get at Christmas when they're kids, they're not. Nitro RC cars are the ones with the little screaming engines, that only run on special fuel and not petrol. Then there are petrol powered RC cars which are huge and hugely expensive.
Different sites will sell batteries and fuel with the cars, called a package deal, others just sell the cars and you have to buy the fuel and batteries separately.

hey me agian I have one more question for the world I'm looking at geting a new rc car but I'm trouble on what I should get a nitro or a electric I have a electric and iv driven a nitro but I what reall what is a car thats fast offroad but not just for going straight I need speed for dirt I love tuning cars like a dirt bike I love climbing hills (fastly) and I love jumping anything I see and I mean anything pile of rocks, mounds of dirt, burms, and dirt hills so I know I need 4wd but should I get electric or nitro electric kind suck cuz you need to charge batteries constantly and they don't quite have the roar a nitro does but their easy to maintain and fix but a nitro has great horse power and really goes offroad and climbs every thing and really has that roar but I thera alot of mantanice to be done plus you have to buy gas alot and I don't have a job to constantly get gas but I'm sure my parents would get some if I bug them enough so if any one whants to help me what do you think I should get and I relize a brushless motor will make electrics fast I'm not stupid I have a brushless motor and I don't need names of cars I should get I have no controll on what I get because I'm guessing my parents will be geting me one for the holidays and no I'm not some little kid I'm 16
and I'm not looking for racing fast or showing off fast I'm looking for what hill or bump in the ground can I turn into jump and see how high I can get fast and I'm looking for durability

Go with the electric - The up front cost might be higher but as long as you can charge your batteries you can run your car. If you run out of fuel you are dead until you get more. At $16.00 per gallon it is very spendy. LiPo batteries have the highest energy density but require special care in charging and discharging. A good ESC is a must - properly sized for the expected current draw. Don't skimp on the charger unit either.
