do you know how i can make my electric remote control car faster?
i got it from Wal mart and its kind of slow how can i make it go fast?

Answer
If it was just an electric toy car, you would increase the voltage the motor is getting and it would go faster. But being remote control, it has some electronics in it that could be damaged by higher voltage.

But there is always a way. Do you know much about electronics? You need to wire in a relay between the motor and the control box. You wire it so that the control box doesn't send power to the motor any more, it just sends a little power to the relay to "trip" it (a relay is just a switch that it turned on by electricity - you can get one at Radio Shack).
Say your car runs on 6 volts. You would hook up some batteries with say, 12 volts, and connect one of the wires to the relay, the other wire to the motor, and then run a wire from the relay to the other motor wire. Now, when you press the button on the remote to make it go, the controller in the car will turn on the relay. The relay will connect the 12-volt power to the motor, and off it goes, twice as fast as before.
You might even consider running it at 18 volts. To do this, get 4 or 6 rechargeable 9-volt batteries. Connect them in series pairs - two batteries to make 18 volts, then two more in series, with this series connected in parallel to the first. The more batteries you have in series, the faster it will go. The more you have in parallel, the longer it will run.
Hope this helps!

How can i hook my electric fan as a motor for my radio control???

i want to radio control my electric fan. i have a radio control car which uses a 12V DC battery for the dynamo/motor and its receiver. i want to replace the dynamo with an electric fan motor which uses 220V AC. how can i do this without destroying the receiver?

Answer
run it through a small contactor controlled by a low voltage ice cube relay. But how are you gonna get 220v to the car?

Can magnets damage or be damaged by radio controlled electronics?

I am doing a science project that involves a radio controlled model airplane (it's a "hover car" type thing with model airplane characteristics) and it has magnets on its outer surface. Will the magnets or the "hover car's" electric engine be damaged by being in close contact?

Answer
no, magnets are not damaged by radio signals or by electronic components.

but your next sentence asks something different.

"Will the magnets or the "hover car's" electric engine be damaged by being in close contact (with the other magnets) ?"

it's an electric motor. but probably not. while a weak permanent magnet can be modified by a stronger one, it appears that the distances are too big for this to happen here.

.

anyone know how to make a radio control car?

Ant

OK, my son wants a fast radio control car and he wants it with the lights flashing at the top. i have seen people do it but i don't know how or know how to even mess with any of that. I don't have much, but i want him to really have a r/c car that runs on gas that looks like a police car. if anyone can assist me with doing so please do reply as to what i can do or as to how i could pay you to make this happen!

Answer
You can buy a kit that is pre assembled right out of the box....They call them ready to run or r/t...You may not get the lights though...I would suggest not going for gas right away...They are kind of finicky and are costly to run...The gas ones run on nitro fuel and a gallon of gas is like 20.00...You can get an electric one that is still pretty darn fast that will be easier to take care of....Check out www.hobbylobby.com for ready to run r/c cars and trucks....As far as someone doing it for you you,ll have to remember that it will crash and break....So both of you will have to fix it....This is a great father son project....
