Ok seriously, the louder the car the better. If you need people to hear you coming, you should not be driving! I don't think they can hear you anyway, what with cell phones and all. So donât go killing any one now! Through out time we fight change, I get that. Pardon the pun; but itâs like telling a guy to put the toilet set down, it is redundant. A thousand years of evolution and we still do not want to save are selves. And what about having to charge it? Gas cars have an alternator, whatâs with that? Or is it that we are money hungry? there is one word to sum that up with Greed. Here is a piece of science for you. What happens when you take one leg off a table? It becomes less stable. Oil Drilling the same thing and we call them earth quakes. I am not a rocket scientist. I look forward to the controversy. Thank You.

The second first: you could not charge an electric car with an alternator due to the law of conservation of energy which says that in a closed system energy tends to be conserved. It is not suddenly created and when energy does work the same energy can't be used to do something else. A moving car has inertia that keeps it moving. Anything you do to tap into that inertia will slow the vehicle. An alternator will slow a vehicle. An electric motor is used to break an electric car and it is known as regenerative braking but you only can get back a portion of what you expended initially.

Electric cars could be available if the gasoline car had not been seen as better over 100 years ago. They could be available if GM had not reclaimed and crushed their vehicles 8 years ago. They may be available tomorrow if more people want them than the people and money interests that don't want them. And they are available today in the form of the Tesla Roadster, the Tango, and many conversion vehicles. The Tesla roadster has achieved a record of 313 miles traveled on a charge. The soon to be released Nissan Leaf will average about 100 miles on a charge. Each could use a genset trailer to travel much further.

Now, those links above will get you into an electric car cheap. Under $5000, if you want to. But if you want newer technology, and a driving range over 100 miles, you'll have to wait a year or two. It's been said that the electric car will not return to the market. Engineers have failed to develop a good running electric car capable of meeting today's driving standards. Also they have failed to properly sell the right amount of electric cars to get it goin'. Is there more to the death of the electric car than we think?

All those Nissan dealers will be upset when they hear about this since they all sell an all electric car called the Nissan Leaf. Also Ford is just introducing the Focus Electric this fall.

You are misinformed. The electric car, although not exactly taking the world by storm, is far from dead, in fact it's on the increase.

Is Hybrid Car and Electric Cars are really going to be Future as Success Story?

Electric cars and hybrid cars are need by us, but can they compete today's cars like in Speed, Power, Comfort, Looks?

That's the whole point of hybrids and electrics. It's easy to make an electric vehicles fast and powerful, just difficult for it to have range. The first cars to reach 60mph were electric cars. You could easily put in a thousand horsepower electric motor into a car but the batteries would be depleted very quickly. We've been able to make gas cars with 50mpg plus back in 1982 which is still better than what the modern hybrids get but they lacked speed and power, the addition of an electric motor making the efficient cars hybrids is what gives the power and performance that the consumer wants.

We really don't need hybrids and electric cars. We don't even need so many cars. If we were willing to accept the lackluster performance of the 1982 econoboxes then why enhance the performance with an electric motor? If we want the flexibility to change the fuel source from fossil to something clean like solar by using electric vehicles then why don't we just synthesize gasoline from CO2 and H2O with solar power? Synthesized fuels could even be carbon negative whilst an electric vehicle with solar generated electricity is at best carbon neutral

Ultimately, Hybrid and electric will be seen for what they are, marketing to create an additional market niche for new cars just like model years, tail fins, station wagons, minivans, SUV's and Flex Fuel cars. Measures that would actually make a difference such as changing how we make the gasoline just doesn't make the auto manufacturers any money.
