baby oh's
I am in my home in broomfield, CO. It's 10 degrees F outside and all our electricity and heating is out. The only power we have is from my battery powered laptop. My husband is on a business trip until sunday, so I am snowed in by four feet of snow and I have my six little kids with me!
All you can see is white outside and nothing in the house. OUr heating is out and so we are freezing our butts off.
I have no phone service.
Tell me what I can do I have a huge problem.
My kids are ages 6,4,4,3,2 and 13 days, yes I have a thirteen day old with me.
Two of my kids have the vomit bug and they are sick as dogs, plus I cant see to find any flashlights or candles.
Everybody is so scared and I have no phones, no close way to get help, and no possible way I am going to dig my way out of four feet of snow and get my 6 little kids, two barfing their guts out and one only 13 days old out in the freezing a*s*s cold weather to get into a car and drive to somwhere safe. Please help!!!
Gee, well I cant exactly email anybody right now as most my family has no email adn there is no neighborhood/city website to get an email adress!
I am trying to keep us as warm as possible, but I am almost out of warm winter clothes for my little sick children that make a mess every 10 minuets, and I can't get mad because it's not their fault they got the stomach flu in the middle of a blizzard!!
I just hope you will all pray for me, my kids, and all the other fammilies in my town!
Thanks so much!
Okay, we made it through the night!
But now three are sick and I cant even cook breakfast so they are all eating box cerial!
I feel so bad, but they are just happy as could be looking out the window at 5.5 feet of snow!
Poor things slept in the bathroom! My three taht are sick wanted me, so we move a mattress into our king size master bath room, two that were not sick slept in the bathtub with five down filled blankets! they were fine, they LOVED it!
On the other hand, my three sicklings are sleeping on the matress, and a put baby in his carrier by me. They are much better now, but still sick. I have them eating applesauce and so far, so good!
But thank you all for answering! Although we are not out of danger yet!!!
our front door is frozen shut!!
If you have any extra Ideas, please help!!!
Answer
(1) email friends (as many as you can), neighbors, colleagues, etc. Explain. Ask them to call the police, fire, red cross, disaster services, electric company, etc. to send help.
(2) repeat Step (1) with your electric supplier. Their email number is probably on your bill. If not, google it.
(3) Repeat Step (1) with your local police, fire, red cross, other local emergency services.
(4) Have all your children put on winter coats, two pair of socks, and a hat. Keep your littlest one huddled up to you, in a child carrier, underneath your jacket, as much as you can. Try to stay in one or two rooms for the most part, to conserve body heat. Hang an extra blanket from the windows to retain what little heat there is. Keep the door shut.
(5) If your neighbors have power, try emailing them for help. Google their addresses if possible. You would not want to go there and leave your children unattended, or take your kids through that much snow.
(6) pray. Others will see this and pray too.
Hope this helps!

Have you ever had your car broken into?

Or house?
My Moms business was broken into last night.
Answer
My car was broken into by a couple of kids once. My husband to be and I were one block away from our apartment at church....going through the pre-wedding meetings with the pastor. I left my bosy (ages 10 and 8) at home with the neighbor upstairs checking on them. They were a little nervous so they kept looking out the window....the last time, they saw my dome light on and someone rummaging around in there. They ran upstairs to get the neighbor and by the time the police got there, the heathens were gone. All they took was a bunch of change in the cup holder. Luckily.
My house...I can't prove it, but I think someone was staying in the apartment I shared with my ex-husband during the day when we were at work and the kids were at school. We'd come home to find cigarette butts in the toilet (neither of us smoked and my kids were young...5 and 7. Pop would be missing, crumbs would be on the counter, the shower wall would be wet....and our electric bill went up quite a bit. It was a double..one of those apartments where the garages are in the middle and the apts. are on either side. Our neighbors swore they never saw or heard anything but I knew something was up because I came home once to an unlocked door and the fridge door was wide open. It was enough to convince us to move.
My son had his car broken into. They stole the face plate to his CD player (rendering it useless) and broke the locks on the drivers door and the trunk. My hubby also had his tires slashed....about 20 reports came in that night about tires being slashed.
