can I replace my 6v 4.5ah battery with 6v 12ah battery?

My son has an electric power wheel car that I bought from EBay. it comes with a 6 volt 4.5 ah battery, but seems to run weak on slight up hill side walk. I also have a Speed racer 6v car which runs fine. Would a 6v 12ah battery help or just extend the joy ride. How about a slight increase in amps like 8Ah or will that burn the motor? Any ideas will help. As long as the voltage is the same, it should be safe to run the higher ah battery. The higher amphour rating will last longer between charges. The same as replacing a 12v 400 ah battery in a car with a 12v 800 ah battery. Just make sure it will physically fit.

What size DC motor and controller should I use to power a small car (simmular to a Little Tikes Car) with a 200lb person in it? Please include all specs of the motor. Thanks.

The power can be determined for several situations:
How fast to go when cruising, and the friction and wind load under this condition.
Maximum acceleration with weight of completely loaded vehicle.
Maximum climb rate with weight of vehicle.

If it is just walking pace and no grades and minimal acceleration, I would say 200W. The motor size will dictate battery size too. It will need gears to match the motor speed to the wheel RPM. If you intend to run with this size motor and a 12V battery it needs to be a large 12V x 60-100AH battery to work well, though that will run for quite a few hours. A bigger motor is better with a 24V battery, and more as it gets bigger still.

Usually these things are determined empirically - experience with other similar vehicles determines what is satisfactory. It is best to look at similar ride on cars. Some kids cars may be more like 50W with a small battery but that doesn't work for long or well.

Consider electric disability/mobility scooters. These are only expected to run on flat hard surfaces, an the sizes mentioned above are something like the top end of these. I expect golf scooters are more powerful as they are intended to run on grass with grades. The third link shows an electric wheelchair for tough conditions with almost 1KW of motor power.
Motors will be specified for RPM and mechanical power in watts (the torque can be calculated from that. They are also specified for voltage to provide this RPM and maximum allowable current. Other important considerations are the cooling (if it has a fan it may not be able to run slowly without overheating), the gears built in or how to mount gears, bearing life, waterproof. Mobility and other scooters mentioned are often available second hand, and would be a good source of all the parts you need. You also need a speed controller and a battery charger to suit, and probably wheels and steering., axles etc.

The Religion and False God of "Environmentalism"....?

Q. I don't at all think people should be poisoning our water or anything, but aren't our current environmentalists worshiping a false god? Although they don't wear a loincloth and name it "the sun god" or some of those other historical methods, they are still living their lives to appease the god of their almighty "environment".

They sacrifice to it via forgoing productivity, convenience and strong business; they are scared to offer it the wrong kind of burnt offerings (burning plastic, styrofoam, etc.); they have installed their radical religious environmentalism into our government and those around the world (EPA and such), and force everyone to comply with its current prophets; they bash anyone who doesn't have faith in global warming; they have world services and fellowships where leaders from around the globe gather to attend service. Some are even willing to kill others in the name of their god.

I'm not at all kidding or being sarcastic. Their beliefs are very much worshiping a false god and is very much a religion. They just don't want to call it that because it's unconstitutional to force everyone to worship their god (small g).
If you put your faith in it, then it is your religion.

Yes I know what you are saying and it is true, they in sense worship the earth or mother earth as some say. They care more about the earth then they do about people or God. Liberal nut jobs who tend to be hypocrites.

Global warming is a lie, when temperature changes are nothing more than a natural cycle of the earth and sun. While the real environmental issues like genetically modified food, water pollution, ground pollution are more of a real issue.

Electric cars for example, made of plastic fiberglass and batteries leave more pollution behind than if cars were made from metal and burn gas.

Does anyone know of some good sites where I can find out how to make animated props for a haunted house?

depends on how far you really want to take it.

Do you want pneumatic aligators that raise up out of the pond? Or do you just want cheap special effects acheiveable by everyday things around the house?

I can't really give any great sites for animated props, but I can tell you about a few I know how to create.

1) Jason Vorheeves. Hang a "scarecrow" from a tree in the yard and wire one arm to the front door. Freel free to place any item of scariness in Jason's arm. Everytime the front door opens, Jason's arm rises or lowers depending on how it was rigged. It's dark outside and no one will be able to see the rigg wires.

2) Crazy chainsaw weilding maniac or crazy straight saw weilding maniac. Make sure to remove any cutting blades off the electric tool. No chainsaw blades!!! No table saw wheel blades what so ever!!! Run at the neighborhood kids, with the tool going full blast, the noise and the air blast will scare the bajeebus outta' them.

3) Jail Cell Horror Scare. metal bars, rebar works great for this. Behind the jail cell bars is the insane lunatic wanting to get out. they rush the jail bars with two insulated pieces of rebar that are hooked up to the lowest car battery volt you can find. Slam the electric rebars against the jailcell bars and sparks will fly.

4) Electrocution Man. build a wooden chair with arm rests, place a "scarecrow" in the seat. Fasten him down at the wrists and chest area. His head must have a flexible rod of some sort to support the head wobbliness of the rest of the project. Use a modified sawzall or sabersaw, with the blade removed and replaced with a connection from the saw to the head's rod. Push button, listen to noise and watch as head and chest violently convulse scaring kids left and right that they are watching a real electrocution.

5) Glowing water fountain. Use your generic anyday old water fountain and add the contents of 2 or 3 glow sticks to the water. The water will glow on it's own. Can't get ahold of glow sticks? then use a few bright highlighters, pull out the cores and place the cores somewhere in the fountain to let the fluid dye the water. Careful the hightlighter core will stain your hands. Black lights make the hightlighter juice glow in the dark.

6) Glowing ice balls. use old cristmas lights and wire them with copper shielded wiring. place inside a baggy or cellophane filled with water. Freeze overnight, then wire up the ends to a toggle switch/lightswitch and then to a small battery. Can't get ahold of left over christmas lights? Then use one of those nifty push button lights from the Home Depot store, remove batteries, soder wire to the battery diodes and then rewire to a toggle switch/lightswitch and then to an extra baterry source.

7) Bleeding painting. Paint a lady with a choker necklace on a piece of luan. Cut only the lower section of the choker out of the painting, maybe an inch in width and a few millimeters in height the width of the blade. Hot glue a cheap Glad plastic dish on the back side of the painting over the whole. cut one whole in the top of the gladware item. Use a fishtank pump to pump the water to the gladware dish, via an extra hose. The fishtank pump pumps the water to the container the container fills the water escapes from the hole in the paintings neck and dribbles down to the receptacle purposefully made to catch the water and allow the fishtank pump to recycle.

I'm gonna' stop there, but I could go on for days. Halloween haunted houses are the best things ever!

Fog machines, dry ice, black lights, sound effects, and darkness make the whole thing even spookier.
